Let's try Love again

Ruminations on life, love, heartbreaks, and on being a foolish dreamer

What is love?

How many of you can describe love? I cannot! Some say it is that rush of adrenaline, when you see or talk to someone. When you send them a text and the anticipation of a response keeps you awake all night. When you do silly things just to get noticed. When you write poems. When you send gifts.

Yes, it is love. All of it. But it is only the beginning of a loving relationship. What you make of those feelings down the road is up to each individual. All they are – is a chemical impulse triggered by hormones. All they are is the excitement and anticipation of feeling wanted, feeling attractive and feeling important. How you choose to act once those impulses quiet down (and they certainly do) is what determines what love will end up being – in your life.

That crucial stage – the stage when chemicals take a back seat and reality takes a front seat. That stage of transition – is the stage which will test your “love” and really that is the time to ask yourself tough questions.

Are you in that stage right now? Have you been in that stage and sailed through? What challenges did you face? How did you triumph? I would love to hear about it.

Let’s talk!
